Head of the section paleoanthropology, Senckenberg Research Institute,
Professor at the Department of Paleobiology of Vertebrates at the Institute of Ecology, Evolution and diversity in the biological sciences department of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt a. M. In 2007 he became director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Africa ( ZIAF /Goethe-University).
Friedemann Schrenk is a paleoanthropologist and Africa researcher with a passion. He deals primarily with questions regarding the origin and spread of the genus Homo and the African paleoecology. He relies on one thing: fossils. Therefore, Friedemann Schrenk travels several times a year for excavation work to Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. In addition to the research efforts Schrenk and his team have an important contribution by book publications and lectures. Interesting and clear - understandable for everybody - he describes the foundations of his work as a scientist and maintains communication with the general public. For this he was honored in 2006 with the Communicator Award of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

Dr. Ottmar Kullmer
Head of the Section Tertiary mammals at Senckenberg Research Institute
Ottmar Kullmer holds a doctorate in the fields of earth sciences on mammalian paleontology and paleoanthropology. To explore the early history of man, is one of his favorite work areas, and since 1988 he participated in paleontological research, expeditions and excavations in Europe and Africa.
During the evaluation of findings many high-tech tests are used. Ottmar Kullmer directs the Laboratory for 3-D morphometry and tooth function pattern analysis. The Senckenberg researcher also conveys his diverse knowledge to the students of Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main. He teaches palaeobiology at the Institute of Ecology, Evolution and Diversity.
